Any Reviews On The Buck 119?

By Jeff On January 26, 2010 Under Knife Hunting

I had a surplus KA-Bar that I liked and used for hunting but my dad pawned it and they sold it so he gave me money for a new knife. I searched around and the military surplus store I bought it from about 2 years ago didn't have any so I need a hunting knife and went with the Buck 119. it seems nicely built, but seems like the grip will slide around in my hand tough. any reviews on it?

butch said it all, man. i have 2 buck 119s and theyre great knives, but i would prefer my usmc issue ka bar any day. not just because that thing has been with me since desert storm, but the ka bar is just…a great knife. not much to say lol its just good for just about anything.

Buck took a downhill turn on quality many years ago. I don’t know if they moved their operations over seas, started using inferior materials, fired all their quality control techs, or all of the above, but as it stands now, if someone gave me a Buck knife, I’d sell it and buy either a Ontario, CRKT, or Gerber knife. All of which are made in the USA.

You could have bought the same KA-Bar surplus knife New, or Used on Ebay instead of the Buck 119.* Ebay has lots of them.*
