Bowie Knife

When you try to decide on the perfect survival or hunting knife is easy to catch the details. I am a hunter knife, it means that I have to hunt for the best knives available. Here's my top 5 tips to put you on the right path and find the knife that suits you.
5. Drop point, or the style of Bowie?
Like a knife in a hunter, I personally Love the style of Bowie knife, but in reality, Drop point blade is actually a better design, or the preservation of hunting applications. It is more suitable for camp chores and leather.
4. Black, stainless steel, powder coated ... Choose the type of blade.
Black blade material will eventually wear off, if the knife has been used a lot. However, survival circumstances, you may not want to advertise your position your light shine stainless steel. Powder coated blades for good and help keep the blade corrosion. Shiny blade can double as a mirror, so it really depends on your specific application.
3. Select the first address type.
Are you going to use that knife in cold or wet? You may want to go to some kind of rubber-coated handle. If you're more into the beauty of a knife you can get one made of bone, horn, or some exotic wood. Stacked leather is always a nice option also.
2. Jagged or straight blade?
Many of the knives with a small area of indentation on the spine, either generally or in the blade near the handle. This is very quickly cut the rope, or kindling, and fire, or anything else you may need to use the sawing motion. But this area is difficult to refine, especially novice. It will take a special sharpening stones to keep the edges tuned. STRAIGHT BLADE knife is easier to keep sharp, and some even with knives Sharpener is integrated into the sheath.
And the number one tip ... SIZE, bigger is not always better.
3-5 inch knife with a blade is the most knife you'll ever need in any situation. This knife still about 7-10 inches long.
