Hire a good ghostwriter to create your eBook. Hiring a ghostwriter for you eBook will go much smoother and you will get the eBook you want by knowing just a few tricks. Writers are not mind readers. You want to be sure a writer knows what your expectations are.
Tell the writer what you expect:
• the number of pages or words (eBooks are often 10- 100 pages)
• the number of chapters
• document format
• level of writing (who is your audience?)
Tell the writer what you will provide. If possible have an outline of your eBook with possible chapter headings. Let the writer see your website and let them know you will be giving the eBook away. Tell them who your desired audience is for the eBook. This should include:
• Gender
• Age group
• Culture
• Education
• Native Language
Also any other specifics such as business owners.
Make sure you know what the ghostwriter will provide. Some will include graphics, a table of contents, index, and glossary for your eBook. While you can ask potential ghostwriters for samples, this is not the best way to choose one. Why? Because:
• The samples they provide might not have been written by them.
• The client could have provided much of the writing.
• The client might have revised the writing.
• Knowing the piece was going to be used as a sample, the ghostwriter might have spent an amount of time on it that was not economically feasible.
Ask the ghostwriter to send you the first few pages of your project before proceeding. Make sure your agreement states that the continuation of the project is dependent on your review and approval of the first few pages of the project.
