Im Looking For A Good Hunting Knife?

By Jeff On September 20, 2009 Under Knife Hunting

I need a good knife. I am going to use it for hunting and gutting out a deer. I just need an all around good hunting knife. Any good ones out there?

Well, without spending thousands or several hundred….Gerber in the size you want. Kershaw also for a decent price.

Buck “zipper” or “vanguard”. Cheap, durable, and a great blade shape/angle/size for such work.
If you “The” knife, then you will just have to go to a store and put it in your hand to see which you like.
P.S. A good knife needs a good sheath. the walmart knives are good, but their sheaths are cheap nylon to reduce the cost. An extra $15 isn’t bad for a much more usable leather sheath.

I like the Gerber. Works good, holds a good edge, is easily sharpened, price is cheap enough and has a gut hook that really helps out.The only down side is it doesn’t rip very well but it is an excellent skinning knife.

you can find a good hunting knife just about any where. A good brand is buck knives. but you dont have to get a brand name knife for it to be good.

Buck knives are very well made and keep a good edge . They come in all shapes and sizes . For deer hunting I would get a knife with about a 4″ blade.
