Knife Clip

does anyone know what ts called what my keys clip on to?

i work at sainsburys and the knife i have to cut open boxes the string has snapped what stretches the knife outwards from my belt, what is the elastic called what i can clip my knife onto and clip the other end on my belt, because at the moment im having to use the knife without any elastic or string and i keep leaving it lyeing around on the shelves,

its a form of lanyard, derived from a naval term

probably an elasticated or retractable lanyard
