Can a clown knife fish survive in a 55 gallon tank its whole life?

How long? What are some other big fish for a 55 gallon?

Nothing that grows over 12" is going to live "its whole life" in a 55g ... unless you want to stunt it,then will be a short life at that.

Clown Knife grows to 40" ... with proper care.A 55g is 48" long and a little over 12" wide ... just picture it.

A large fish is going to be an Oscar or Paratilapia polleni ... and 55g is the bottom mnimum on those.
