Is Matt Cassel a special QB, or could almost anybody have won with the Pats?

Could even Alex Smith have flourished under Belichick with weapons like Welker and Moss and a solid veteran D?
John David Booty could have pulled off what Cassel did (after all, Booty did START at USC).

The hoody is the best coach in the league and Cassel is not Tom Brady, but give Cassel some credit, he was shaky at the beginning after not starting a game since he was in high school and steadily improved.

Cassel had the temperament and selflessness to succeed under coach Belichick and knew the offense excepcionally well.

If Alex Smith or John David Booty would come to New England, they would struggle trying to learn the complicated Offensive Scheme the Pats run.
