How do you open a utility knife?

I need to cut up boxes for recycling. I bought a utility knife w/ 2 blades included, but I don't know how to get it started. There are no directions on it, just a piece of cardboard sticking up out of where the blade should be that tells you to wear safety glasses and be careful, (which I can't pull out). There's a little knob that slides up and down that I thought would slip the blade up, but nothing happens when I do that. There's a big screw in the handle, do I need to undo the screw? (I thought it may have been broke, so I went back to the store and looked at the others, and they're all the same way--there was no one in the Department to ask).

Take the screw out and the knife will separate into two halves.

Take one of the new blades, after removing the piece of cardboard, and put it on the slider so that the two cutouts on the top of the blade are lined up with the tabs on the slider.

Pay careful attention when you separate the two halves and put the knife back together the same way.. Replace the screw, and push down on the slider while pushing fore ward at thee same time. You should be ready to cut boxes. Keep in mind that paper dulls the blade fast .
when the blade is dull open the knife and turn the blade around th use the other side. One blade will give you two uses.
I hope this helps. If not go to your local Ace Hardware or Home Depot and ask someone there. They will be glad to show you.

Good Luck

A small but handy. Simplicity at its best. Just find the key ring with the perfect Swiss Army knife by Victorinox Classic 53,001. Classic Knife is 2.28 inches long (58 mm) closed. Not a bit big.

This small, Titan is a wonderful design will be the end of this most useful gadget price below $ 20. Pocket or in your keychain, you can not win. Fifty-eight millimeters long, but filled with enough useful features to enjoy. Key ring, toothpick, tweezers, small blade, scissors and nail file and screwdriver tip - it's all and it is all you need immediate solutions.

Classic is always ready to jump into action when the need arises. Take the batteries free of charge, or any key on. This is a tool that does not need preparation.

What is it good you ask? A lot of things. I can tell you what I used for my. Keychain, of course, will allow me to keep my Classic all my keychain. Sometimes it is used in the Classic, I still stick to my keychain, and sometimes I will take it away. Toothpick Self explanatory. Tweezers are a good plucking and picking. Small blade comes in handy opening boxes, letters, and the packaging material.

I have used scissors to cut the thread and snip wire, string, slice paper, clip coupons, and my nails. I used a nail file to cushion the rough edge of my fingernail. I has not been a need for a screwdriver tip itself. I am sure that tens of use I have not even thought about this little Swiss Army knife.

Classic Swiss Army Knife comes the usual red color are all familiar with, when you consider the Swiss Army. But is in fact a large number of colors to choose from: 53,001 red, black 53,003, 53,005 pink, cobalt blue 53,002, 53,024 Hunter Green, Hunter Green Shamrock 53,014, 54,002 star David Blue, Purple 53,034, 53,006 black, white 53,007, 53,008 yellow, translucent amythest, Translucent Onyx 54,213, 54,214 translucent sapphire, translucent emerald 54,214, 54,211 Translucent Ruby, stayglow (glow in the dark) 53208, Camouflage 53,490, 54,005 translucent pink and translucent Citrine 54218.

When I say transparent, I mean that the extent of (half-knife) is transparent. These translucents is a very beautiful and interesting to look at them. Very modern and certainly different than the same old, red, that we have all known and loved for decades.

If you do not believe that you would never use the screwdriver Tip like me, is a variation of the Classic, which is suitable for you. Instead, the tip of the nail file is a small screwdriver, you can be a pointy tip. Accordingly, it is really wonderful and Cleaning nails. Pointy is good. Victorinox specific part numbers of these classics are the following: Red 53,181, 53,183 and 53,185 black and pink.

Great Quality Product such as the Swiss Army knife to staypower. Swiss Army Knives last a lifetime ... if you lose them! Some people have been known to hang around the same stick in your pocket knife twenty years. To talk about money well spent! What other products you can use less than 20 dollars, and may assume that it will serve you and take so long? Whether you are a first razor to your tenth, you always feel a little more prepared for what life throws you, if you are Pack, "the Swiss Army knife.

Lisa Gunther is a freelance writer and product reviewer. Swiss Knives Express is the perfect place to select a Swiss Army knife for yourself or loved one: http://www.swissknivesexpress.com. What celebrity would you invite over to help you laundry?

Celebrity This, after waiting patiently for the dryer cycle is completed, perhaps discuss with you ... or perhaps does not say a word. Then you can cancel out the dryer and fold clothes and hang the shirt, and a description of the place and the clothes lines and there, behind the normal places.
