Charge Tti

Charge Tti
Which is a better birthday gift? Men answer, please.?

He's told me at different times throughout the year that he really wants both of these things. He's turning 28, btw, and is very outdoorsy, so both would be used/appropriate.

A Leatherman Charge TTI - the cadillac of multitools... www.leatherman.com/products/tools/charge-TTi/default.asp

Or

A fire pit for the backyard? A nice copper one that won't rust - he loves fireplaces/campfires, and our new house has no fireplace.

He gets me, anyway. :-) This is just the present-present.

I can't buy both, because both are rather expensive.

I think you would get more uses out of the fireplace somewhere to spend time together and just a nice addition to the house but it is his BD and a leatherman is a very handy tool so maybe getting him something he personally would use is more important. Just go buy the firepit for the house for both of you to enjoy why make it a gift.

Leatherman Fuse

Leatherman Fuse
Which multitool should i get?

The multitools on my current list are:
Leatherman Skeletool,
Leatherman Fuse,
and Gerber multi-plier 400 compact sport.

Which one is best for the money?
Any other suggestions of durable multitools that are under $80 would be greatly appreciated also.

I have a gerber multi-plier and I have put it through absolute hell and the only problem I had with it is a cracked flat tip screwdriver attachement. I used it to work on caterpillar equipment,Navy F-14's(Tell you how old it is), and many various types of airborne armaments such as bombs and missiles.

I need help choosing a multi-tool!?

Less than a week ago I purchased a Leatherman Blast. The locking part of the tool that locks the tools in place broke. I'm looking for a new multi-tool with all the same descriptions as a Leatherman, but I would like to avoid another break similar to my last one. Any suggestions? Thanks!

hey, what do you think of Swiss Army Champ Knife Multitool?Features 33 tools, including multiple blades, a can opener, metal file, ruler, wire stripper, Phillips screwdriver, ballpoint pen, and scissrs.i think it seems better than the former Leatherman Blast, the price is $46,if you have interest you can go to the deal site where i found it http://www.dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?type=id&q=d30708&ru=276 wish you like it!

Leatherman Juice

Why do people pay so much on ebay....?

for something that retails for a lot less. I saw a Leatherman "Juice" pocket knife for about $72. I saw it @ Sports Authority for about $45. i just couldn't find the color i wanted. is the near $30 difference worth winning an auction?
also, does anyone know where i can get it in red or orange in MA @ the smarter retail price or less? i checked just about every authorized Leatherman dealer there is. and didn't find it on CL

check Amazon for the item / color you want.

People sometimes pay more on Ebay because they are under the impression they are getting a deal and because they fail to do their comparative research elsewhere on the web or in local brick & mortar stores.

How to remove faded flowers from a Canna flower spike ...?

Hi - can anybody please advise me how to remove a Canna flower spike once the blooms have faded. Do I cut it right back to ground level or do I cut it elsewhere on the spike. Have tried to do a search but have found conflicting advice - some sites say that the spike should be cut back to ground level others advise to only cut back to the next set of buds contained within a sheath - not sure about this one - specific advise would be needed as this is the first Canna I have ever grown.

Many thanks!!

http://www.plantanswers.com/parsons/CANNA.htm

the stem on the left there shows how many flower could show up there.... removing each batch as it 'finishes' will keep the plant looking 'well dressed'... but like the site says, it's not a big deal if you don't.....

this site...

http://laptopgardener.com/?cat=4

"Many annuals (and quite a few perennials) must be deadheaded to keep them blooming longer. Notorious are Antirrhinum (Snapdragon), Canna (only remove the spend flowers and be wary of cutting off future flowers lower on the same stalk),

I don't bother mine until the whole stem has finished flowering, then I cut it back as close to the ground as I can.....
