I am my father's old pocket knife. This knife is 30 + years old. I am already in it and the steel wooled I'm soaking it vinegar. I have no idea what else to do, but perhaps put the WB40? I'm going to be used outdoors / fishing stuff. One help?

I have the whole box and "what used to clean stuff '... It contains the toothpicks and Q-tips and such. oil you use your pistol / rifle, like Rem oil or its equivalent is OK knife. Get all the places where the rust and dirt may cause problems. Lansky makes a great sharpening system, which is set on a knife-edge blade.

Gamma Knife Surgery is not really surgery, because you know it. There is no knife, no scalpel. Why did they name it Gamma Knife Surgery? Hit me. But I can tell you that it is a powerful tool. Take it from someone who has had their head opened more than once. Gamma Knife patients usually waltz from the hospital the same day and yet her hair. I walked, or rather, walked carefully to my car one week after each of my craniotomies. And my head was shaved, which is meet me in the diva. So it's worth trying to see if a brain tumor or disease of the brain meets the gamma knife surgery.

It is important to to note that the Gamma Knife (GK) and the Cyber Knife is not the same thing. GK was set up specifically designed and constructed to treat brain tumors and disorders. Cyber knife was not. There are other differences, but this focuses on the benefits of gamma knife and what to look for a good GK treatment.

Gamma Knife is a life-saving equipment care for patients previously considered untreatable

Many brain tumors and disorders, which do not meet the Gamma Knife procedure in 1999 or 2000, when I had surgery. But many of them now. Many people who have been diagnosed with inoperable brain tumor, or unusable, neurological disorders can be treated by GK. Patients who could not make the risk of craniotomy now this option.

How it works?

Basically, GK is a non-invasive, outpatient procedure that focuses on highly accurate cobalt radiation beams in the target area. Patients used Collimator, a sort of helmet, which has little holes. Beams of radiation focused through the holes in the collimator.

Individual beams are too weak to damage healthy tissue, but very effective when they simultaneously combine in one center. In particular, the GK is a highly effective tool for the treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia, nerve disorder, which causes severe facial pain.

GK treatment is to stop the growth of tumors or lesions, which means that the effect occurs over weeks or months. It is usually immediately to treat trigeminal neuralgia. Your doctor will keep in touch with you to help assess progress, which may include monitoring MRI, CT or angiography images to assess the effectiveness.

What GK used to treat?

Whether or not the candidate GK treatment even a physician or group of doctors. But Gamma Knife treatment has been successfully used for the following:

No Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN)

o Benign brain tumor - meningiomas, pituitary tumors, acoustic neuromas

o Intracranial Tumors

No arteriovenous malformation (AVM)

o Metastatic brain disease

No investigation is made of Parkinson's, epilepsy, chronic pain and glaucoma

Benefits of Gamma Knife Surgery

Since there is no incision, risk of infection, bleeding and side effects of anesthesia are minimal. Most patients receive only local anesthesia and a mild sedative. Does not mean anesthesia in patients up and around faster. Here are other advantages:

No surrounding tissue will be spared from unnecessary radiation.

o Gamma Knife surgery is often more cost-effective, because the recovery time is reduced. Most patients leave the from the hospital the same day as treatment. (Medicare and most insurance companies cover the treatment.)

No patients experience little, if any, discomfort during and after minimally invasive procedure.

What to look for Gamma Knife Treatment Center

Not every city is a Gamma Knife Center. So it could mean traveling out of town or state. So the first step is to find out what insurance pay, and if you want to make a complaint center.

Doctor often do not know what centers are good results and experience and can help insurance approval process. If you have problems with insurance approval, do not hesitate to ask for help from a doctor or center, where you want to have the treatment.

Here are some other things you'll want to find the treatment center:

No physician experience. Do you know that the surgeon perform gamma knife is not out of his maiden voyage.

No team of experts and a comprehensive treatment plan. Agency to develop a good management plan for the patient depends on many factors and may have heard about neurosurgeons, oncologists, interventional radiologists to name a few.

o Find a center, which is a newer technology, the fourth generation or higher. GK technique has been around for some time, so it is hardly the prototype state.

No salon Gamma Knife as the host site. Peace of mind is when you have only one center, which sets the standard for Gamma Knife surgery. The manufacturer shall appoint some of the centers' host status ", ie they are models that they want other centers to follow.

o is a complementary technique available on site. Is the PET scanner, CT scanner, Digital angiography 3DRA, trilogy? A full suite of neurosurgery and oncology technology makes it the place dedicated to the treatment of neurological and oncology care. It means that there are more resources in technology and medical experience.

No comprehensive treatment plans. You are looking for center, which offers as much as possible treatment options in one place. Going from one city to another is difficult and stressful. Except that it is unnecessary today. - For example, when seeking treatment for trigeminal neuralgia, you would want to know if they offer the Gamma Knife, medication options, glycerol, and insulin microvascular depression.

Twenty years ago, the patient should have been divine intervention to leave the hospital on the same day he had brain surgery. Gamma Knife makes this possible more than 30,000 patients each year. So if you are a candidate for Gamma Knife, you may be a form of takes to assemble thanksgiving feast, but you can certainly enjoy dinner at home. Although the desert, if you want.

I am a writer and a brain tumor survivor. Always fascinated with the brain, my obsession amplified after going through major league epic brain surgery twice, followed a year later by a cranial reconstruction. Afterwards, I pursued projects that involved neurosurgery and hospitals to sate my appetite for medical knowledge. I could talk the talk, might as well use it to make money to offset the medical bills. My fascination is still piqued. The brain and its maladies are ever mysterious but more easily treatable than they used to be.

Would you pay to use a tactical pistol range that uses pellets guns?

I was hired by a gun shop to work selling air rifles and pistols and run the range they have downstairs. They shoot paper targets and other boring stuff.
I'm thinking more exciting shooting things, like the "tactical style".

More grown up than airsoft, less dangerous than firearms.

I had heard that the belkin print server will not work with multi-function printers-mines the hp2575?

I would appreciate any help as i'm a non tech- woman trying desperately to set up a wireless networking system, and i'm working on wireless printing.I read in a forum that these belkin print servers do not work with all in one printers which seems hard to believe.

You will not be able to get all the functions out of your multi-function over the network, but you should be able to print this way. The printer will be using a TCP/IP port instead of a USB or Parallel port. Add the software as you normally would, with the printer plugged into your computer for a local installation. Once all the software is installed and the printer is working, connect the printer to the print server and configure the port. You will get an IP address from your print server. Write this number down and go to your printer on the computer you installed it on. Open the properties and go to the ports tab. Click on the Add port button. At the next screen click on Standard TCP/IP Port. Click New Port... button. Click next. Type in the IP address of your printer in the Printer Name or IP Address box. Click next and select Generic Network Card. Click Next and Finish. Then close the add port box. In the print to the following port(s) select the port you just added. Try printing a test page. If everything went right it should print correctly. I hope this helps.

I was looking at the corporate driver and when it unpacks it creates a drivers folder which makes it a lot easier to install network printers.
Download the corporate driver and unpack to a location you can find later.
Open printers and faxes, click on Add printer. Click next. Click on local printer and uncheck Automatically detect. Click next, select new port. Select standard TCP/IP port. Click next. The TCP/IP port wizard comes up, click next. Type in the IP address that you used before. Click next and use the Generic network card. Click next and then finish. The next thing you will get is find printer type, here click on have disk and browse to the Drivers folder where you unpacked the files earlier. Select your printer and finish wizard. Repeat this procedure on any other computers you connect to the network. If you have a jump drive move the drivers folder to this for ease of finding the drivers. Again good luck

how do bill clinton and w differ in how they handle terrorists?

in 93 when the first NYTC was bombed, clinton hunted down the terrorists, and they serving life sentences.....after 911 bush trampled the US constitution, ignored bin laden, put together a laughable war plan using too few troops in crap humvees honestly believing the US could plant a US flag in Baghdad without resistance.........$500 billion dollars and 3500 dead US troops later, the reputation of the US is a joke, and iraq is now a training ground for the Al Quaida, which is documented by many experts as being as strong now as it was on 911, and getting stronger.........and the bushies claim w is keeping us safe because we havent had another 911...

it took terrorists 7 years, 1993-2000, to launch a second attack on the NYTC.......who will the bushies blame when the US is hit again?

I only hope we can get rid of W as soon as possible.

On the subject of Southern recipes, I'm sorry to say that what is often represented as a Southern recipe, is not. I lived all my life in the South and traveled the world but have never met a Southerner that puts sugar in cornbread. We call that "Yankee" cornbread. That is cake, not cornbread.

Back to the subject at hand, assuming you have real Southern recipes, you can still wind up with a dish that is not truly Southern if you do not employ Southern cooking techniques. You may produce something that is good but the technique makes it more than good, it makes it special.

Cooking Method:

Southerners fry more of their dishes than any other people I know. Therefore, for the most part, Southern cooking is not low fat. However, you can lessen the fat content with the choice of cooking oil you use. If this is a concern, don't use animal fats, lard or saturated oils. I generally use corn or safflower oil. Believe it or not, with dishes that do not require high temperatures, I use olive oil. The point here is to just be prepared to fry a lot with Southern cooking.

Cookware:

Traditional Southern cooking calls for cast iron. You should obtain an 8 and 10 inch skillet and medium pot for your cookware. Cast iron is inexpensive and can frequently be found at thrift stores for two or three dollars, if you have one near you.

The cast iron retains heat a long time and burns fingers readily. But it transfers heat like no other material. You must "cure" or "season" your cast iron before using or you will have a problem with sticking and rust. While the manufacturers instructions for curing are inadequate, they will do. Never use anything but cast iron for cornbread and never cook anything but cornbread in your "cornbread skillet". For most recipes, you will want to heat the cast iron (like pre-heating the oven) before you add the ingredients.

Regular Milk vs. Buttermilk:

In most situations, when a recipe calls for milk, in Southern cooking, you would use buttermilk. You should always use buttermilk for your cornbread and biscuits. It provides a unique flavor that screams "Southern". Here's a tip: if you do not keep buttermilk on hand (I don't), you can make your own by adding about a spoon of white vinegar to a cup of regular milk. Stir and let sit about a minute. You will have a substitute buttermilk for cooking purposes (I do not recommend drinking....although I have never tried it).

Cooking Time:

Many Southern dishes (mostly vegetables) are cooked much longer than you would find in restaurants or homes in other parts of the country. Specifically, green beans, okra, turnip greens, mustard and collards. Vegetables cooked Southern style are NOT bright colored and crunchy (like Chinese stir fry). They are tender and flavorful. An exception to the "crunchy" observation is fried okra. Okra is cooked until nearly burned. It is coated with cornmeal and is, indeed, crunchy. On the other hand, other vegetables such as green beans are cooked around two hours until they are tender and dark green in color.

Seasoning:

This is one of the most important techniques that distinguishes Southern cooking from other styles. Spicy (hot) flavors are seldom used except for cajun cooking, which is a style of cooking all it's own. Onion, bacon and salt are used extensively for seasoning. All greens, black eyed peas, green beans, most anything cooked by boiling in water, is seasoned with salt, a chunk of onion and a slice of bacon (or bacon drippings).

While not a technique, it is important to combine certain foods to produce a traditional Southern meal. Combinations of the following are typical. Fried chicken, fried pork chops, greens (turnip, mustard, collards), black eyed peas, fried okra, cornbread and green beans. So, for a real Southern treat, get an authenic Southern recipe, follow these techniques and watch your family ask for more.

Near Riverside, CA would be best. It is for some guys in my wedding party.

If the object has soft metals - brass, copper, gold, silver etc than any jewler will be able to do it - providing it fits into their vise.

If you want something engraved on the hardened steel blade - that is whole different ball of wax. Now you are looking at either laser or chemical etching - or - enlist the services of a local gunsmith who will refer you to his favorite engraver.

If there is not suitable metal to engrave - you next step is to carve the letter into the soft wood or plastic and inlet it. Again, your gunsmith will be able to recommend someone.

Hope this helps.

Swiss Knife or Multi-tool?

I've owned both. Here is my assessment:

The big advantage to the multi-tool is that it has a good set of needle-nosed pliers. The pliers on the swiss army knife are small and ineffective. Also, all of the tools in the multi-tool are useful. They are tools that you might actually use.

Lastly, the multi-tool comes with a sheath that you can hook to your belt. This makes it harder to lose and easier to find when you need it. These tools are too big to put in your front pocket and it's a pain in the neck to root through a bag to find your tool.

The big draw back to the multi-tool is that it's harder to get to the tools (like the knife, screw driver, etc.) You have to fold the whole tool open, find the tool you want, flip the implement out and close the tool back up. It's just not as convenient.

The Swiss Army knife has a lot of tools that are useless. Most people will never need the fish scaler. The magnifying glass is so small that it's almost useless. And the wood saw is so tiny that it's a waste of space.

On the other hand, you can't beat the quality of a swiss army knife. They will never break. Plus, the Swiss Army knife has a cork screw. For many people, this will be the one tool that is needed the most!

Both tools come with a lifetime warranty.

All told, I'd go with the multi-tool. Even though it's a little harder to get to the tools, it has tools that you will actually need. The multi-tool pliers are great and the protective sheath is very helpful.

Perhaps you have seen headlines, which shocked you about police corruption? In the news it seems to be happening more and more these days, but in reality it is quite common. We are suppose to respect authority, and this undermines our security. It is very damaging to our psyche to see such things in the news.

Why does this corruption surprise anyone?

It is utterly naive to believe that less than 1/3 of all police officers are on the take, regardless of which area of law enforcement division they work in. Criminals are attracted to law enforcement jobs, perhaps because you tried to beat them up or steal their shovel in the sand box in third grade? This explanation sounds too simplistic, but if you check your psychology text book you will see it is one of the most common.

With regards to our police, whatever the reason, it should not surprise anyone? Why is this news and why is everyone making such a big deal out of just obvious things, every time they read about it in the newspaper or see it on TV.

Some say the slight increase has to do with reality, not just better news coverage. Why? Well, because local police departments have to hire more questionable characters because the job market is tight for security, military, border patrol, etc. This might indeed, have something to do with it, of course that does not justify any police corruption, it just explains why it is on the rise.

If you have a problem with this line of reasoning and you don't believe me, just ask any internal affairs officer, see for yourself. Absolute power - corrupts. That is a known fact.

Like many other organizations, USMC has some set of rules that you have to follow, the only difference perhaps would be there will be no excuses in the Marines boot camp. Whether you're going to Parris Island, South Carolina or in San Diego California, keep in mind that you won't be having a vacation at all, I doubt that you even have the time to go sight-seeing. It surely will be the biggest challenge of your life. Learning the basic rules in the Marines Bootcamp may save your life in the future. Do a lot of reading and research, if you can join in some forums then that's better.

Only bring the things that are allowed in the boot camp so you won't end up throwing away most of your stuff. What are the things that are not allowed inside the Marines Boot camp?

Do not bother bringing your gadgets and it does not matter if you think you can't survive without them. You'll be surprised that even the most basic ones are not allowed. Leave your electronic items at home because they will just be shipped back. The main concept of the training is survival which means you only need the most basic of things.

Did you know that even over-the-counter medication is not allowed in basic training? If you bring some with you, it will just be taken away. All prescription medication needs to be re-evaluated by a military doctor and if necessary, you will be re-issued the medication by the military pharmacy. This includes birth control pills for women but they are usually encouraged to continue taking them during the training. Contact lenses are also not allowed during the training, you have to wear your own prescription glasses until you are given a new pair in the Marines boot camp.
