I work in a bike shop and I am constantly opening bike boxes with scissors, but need something more efficient. For my b day/holidays, I was looking for either a high quality folding utility knife or folding pocket knife to cut plastic tie downs and card board boxes. Anything under the sun (money not really an object) Help?

i would recommend the folding box cutting (utility) knife simply because replacement blades are cheap other than that get a stainless Case
oh yeah and stay away from gerber knives you have to grind a new edge on them

End of free speech in Britain-Geert Wilders is sent home?

The white British people. and white Europeans are being denied their freedom of expession by a Muslim minority we never invited in Europe. How sad, is this what our grandparents fought for. To be swamped with third world immigrants, to take away our free speech, rape our women, cause crime, are involved in gun crime knife crime.

The Home Office allows in every dreg of the third world into Britain, but does not allow in a White European MP.
I expect 'Platinum' lives in an unenriched area of Britain. You probably does have to experience the black gangs who roam the streets of inner city London, who made the country where you could once keep your front doors open, into a nation where people are too scared to walk the streets of the inner cities. How does black gun crime and knife crime enrich us?

Your question is wrong on so many levels.

Firstly, how is your freedom of speech affected by the exclusion from Britain of Geert Wilders? I'm "white British and white European" and I'm not affected by it. I'd rather have civil harmony, thanks. Why does your preference outweigh mine?

Secondly, how is it a Muslim minority that is doing this? Are you saying Jacqui Smith is a Muslim? That there is some kind of Muslim cabal running Whitehall? That the UK Border Agency is in the pay of the Ayatollah?

Thirdly, who gave you or anybody else the right to invite people in and out of Europe? We drifted here ourselves, you know. Nobody lived on these islands originally - we're all immigrants.

I think you'll find our grandparents, a generation of white Europeans, fought against a regime of white Europeans, and were assisted bravely by people from around the world, regardless of race. There were no black Nazis, but there were plenty of Commonwealth subjects fighting alongside us.

We are not "swamped" by third world immigrants. (I assume you are equating "third world" with "non-white"). Less than 8% of the population is non-white. That is not swamping.

Lastly, and most importantly, what gives you the right, and what is your reason, for abandoning traditional British values of moderation, reason, good neighbourliness and tolerance? I find your allegations - that third world immigrants "take away our free speech, rape our women, cause crime, are involved in gun crime knife crime" to be ill-informed, intemperate, racist, malicious and vile, not to mention badly-punctuated.

I would happily swap you for ten million "third world immigrants" if you took your unpleasant, un-British views with you. Don't you dare presume to speak for the British people - you certainly have nothing to say on my behalf.

RESPONSE: I grew up in East London, mate. And I've lived in Stoke-on-Trent. So I know what deprivation is like. I also know who to attribute it to: lazy, intolerant people who believe that they are entitled to things rather than having to earn them through sheer merit.

With your whole "we used to leave our doors open" thing, presumably you are harking back to the glory days of the sixties, when there was no such thing as violent crime or gang warfare? Because there was never anything like that among the whites of East London or other inner cities...

Many people think that using a handsaw is hard work but it needn't be. A handsaw, used correctly, can produce good results with minimal effort. Â Here are some points to remember when using a handsaw.

Buying a handsaw. There are good quality disposable handsaws on the market. These have hardened teeth that do not need sharpening. When selecting a saw do not be tempted to buy the cheapest one as these are often of poor quality. A good disposable handsaw will last a long time before it becomes dull. When the saw does become dull a new one will have to be bought. A dull saws should be disposed of responsibly so that it can be recycled.

Holding the handsaw. The correct way to hold a handsaw is to grip the handle with your thumb, second, third and forth fingers. Your first (index) finger should be in a pointing position along the side of the handle, in the direction of the length of the handsaw. Having your index finger in this position gives greater control over the handsaw.

Marking out you cut. Using a square or straightedge, draw a fine line with a pencil  where you want the cut to be. Take your time with this as mistakes are easily made. There is an old saying "Measure twice, cut once"

Supporting the work piece. You will need something to support the piece of wood that you are cutting. A saw horse or bench is good for this but make sure it is sitting solidly without any rocking.

Keep things in line. When using a handsaw, the saw blade, your forearm and shoulder should be in line with each other. They should also be in line with the line that you have drawn on the work piece. Make sure you are standing comfortably.

Making the cut. The secret of using a handsaw is to let the saw do the work. Allowing the handsaw to do the work will require the least effort and produce the best result. Hold the handsaw at about a 45 degree angle. There are reasons to hold the saw at a different angle but I won't go into these here. Holding the handsaw at 45 degrees will produce optimum results. When you are sawing use an even, to and fro action. Apply a small amount of pressure on the down stroke and release the pressure on the upstroke. Use your index finger to steady the saw. You should not cut down the middle of the line but, instead cut tightly along the waste side of the line. Remember, when cutting, to keep everything in line as mentioned above.

If you have never used a handsaw before practice on some scrap bits of wood to get used to the technique. Sawing a straight line can be very satisfying.

If you are looking for just the right gift for anyone on your list, man or woman, look no further than Leatherman tools. These multi-tools are known the world over for durability, quality and style.

If you do not know what a Leatherman tool is think of a Swiss Army Knife, only better quality. The Leatherman includes useful tools such as needle nose pliers, regular pliers, rulers, scissors, screwdrivers (phillips and flat), tweezers, corkscrews, saws, awls and these are only some of the options that are available in a wide variety of Leatherman tools.

There is a tool for every person on your gift list and every type of situation in your life. For the adventurer, the Leatherman Wave, is almost a must to have. This small tool is only 4 inches long, weighs only 8.5 ounces and is made of stainless steel. For being so compact, the Leatherman Wave really packs a punch with a tool list that includes needle nose and regular pliers, wire and hard-wire cutters, a clip point and serrated knife, a diamond coated file, screwdrivers in various sizes as well as a bottle and can opener, plus several tools that are not listed here. The Wave is a tool he will never want to be without again.

For the younger person on your list the Leatherman Juice or Squirt would be a good choice. These tools come with the same commitment to quality as the Wave, but are available in fun colors. These are smaller Leatherman tools, with several styles and tool configurations to from which to choose.

The Leatherman tools are covered under a 25 year limited warranty, if there is a defect in the workmanship or material of the tool, Leatherman will fix it. However, this warranty does not cover any type of abuse, any unreasonable uses of the tool or alterations that you may have made. It does not cover any accessories, the color finishes or sheaths. If your product fails in workmanship or materials, you need to pay to ship it to Leatherman for repair.

The best way to gauge the quality of an authentic Leatherman tool is to actually hold one, to feel it in your hands. You can find Leatherman tools in a variety of stores, outdoor sports shops will have them, as will some discount chain stores. The Leatherman tools will be in the hunting section. Ask the manager of the area to take it out of the case, play with the tools and judge for yourself how useful this amazing little tool would be for anyone in almost any situation.

To see the complete line of Leatherman multi tools visit them online. They can answer any questions that you may have regarding the tools themselves, the manufacturing process or the tool configurations that are available.

Paper is one of those things that always seems to overflow in any home. Piles of mail, piles of schoolwork, piles of magazines, piles of receipts, piles, piles everywhere. So how do you get these piles under control? A few home organization tools can rescue you from your overflowing paper problem.

A desktop filer is one of the home organization tools that can really help with your mail problems. This one has become a lifesaver for me and has worked with my home organization clients as well. It works great for keeping my bills and mail organized. Some files that might help you get started: action (bills that need immediate attention), to read (magazines, letters, newsletters), to file (bills that have been paid, magazine articles you want to keep, financial statements). Those are some of the basic files that can at least help you get started.

You know what kind of mail you get and what you need to do with it. Just keep logical groupings in mind as you create your files. Word of warning though: do not make too many or you will have a hard time figuring out where things need to go. The goal here with this home organization tool is to help you simplify, not complicate things.

A mailbox station is another one of those great home organization tools that can help you tame your paper problem. Create a “mailbox” for every person in your family. This can be as simple or elaborate as you want to make it. If you want to get the whole family involved (and hopefully get their buy-in to use it), have them make their own mailbox or decorate their own mailbox.

A paper sorter, shoeboxes, a plastic container with drawers are all excellent home organization tools to use for this. In this mailbox put whatever mail the person receives, notes for them, reminders, even money now and then as an incentive to be sure to check it. This can work great for your kids too because they can put permission slips in your mailbox and you can put the signed ones back in their mailbox. Just be sure to make it a house rule that everyone checks their mailbox at least once a day. This only works as a home organization tool if you get everyone in your house to actually use it.
