how do you get a golden axe in animal crossing wii city folk?

i have the fountain and i keep throwing it in every day and she either gives me mine back or takes it no matter what i answer is there some kind of trick to it

Serena is a bit temperamental. She may choose to keep your Axe, or she may decide to return it to you. Obtaining a Golden Axe or a Silver Axe is random. Honesty has nothing to do with it.
