My Gerber hunting knife is 27 years old. It’s the only one I have not broken, chipped, or fatally dulled over the years.
Chipped the blade on the Smith & Wesson knife.
Broke the Schrade.
Never liked or used Old Timer
Never used a Jeep, except to drive. . .
I do have a folding Kershaw, use it every day for something. Carried it for about 10 years now. Good knive.
What Is A Good Brand Of Knife (hunting/camping)? And How Are The Ones I Will List?
I am looking at knives. I like Gerber. I hate no name cheapo knives.
What about these other brands?
Smith and Wesson
Schrade
Old Timer
Jeep
Kershaw
etc.
I found a good deal on a Jeep knife. Are those any good?

Gerber are good. SMith and Wesson and Kershaw are the only other two brands I would look at. Depending on what you want your knife for, each of those three brands may have a better knife for your needs. For general hunting and camping I like the Smith and Wesson Military & Police spring assisted knives. I really like the Gerber Presto Series.

I’ve owned many different knives thoughout my life, and for some reason, there’s one brand that keeps ending up on my hip or in my pocket.
My Buck.
They’re durable, keep an edge, last forever, and are tough to beat.
Prices are very fair for the quality, and they’re made in the US.
I also like Camillus, SOG, and Cold Steel.
Of all the ones you listed, except Kershaw, they have their knives made for them by another manufacturer.
Get yourself a good Buck knife.
You’ll be happy with it, and you’ll be ableto give it to your kids when they’re old enough to have it, assuming that you’re willing to give it up.

First, I would never use a folding knife for hunting or camping; they are just too fragile. I good sheaf knife costs no more and usually less and they are practically indestructible.
I think that Gerbers and Bucks are excellent and will not cost you an arm or a leg.
